THICKENED SKIN
What does thickened skin look like? Skin thickening, or hyperkeratosis, is a skin disorder that involves an excessive increase in keratinocytes, or cells that make up the most superficial layer of the epidermis. It manifests itself with the appearance of more or less raised formations on the skin in any part of the body. The causes can be mechanical and therefore we speak more generically of calluses or calluses, but they can also originate from inflammatory and irritative processes such as eczema from prolonged sun exposure.
